May 23 (rain-date Friday May 26): Awesome ‘80’s

The ‘80’s are back! Celebrate with Salem Band at our season-opening concert in Salem Square: Whitney Houston, Journey, Gloria Estefan, and Superman will be there in musical spirit! Plus, music from Oklahoma!, Amadeus!, and the dramatic Great Gate of Kiev. Guest vocalist Michael Martinez will sing a jazzy Blue Moon with the band. Pre-concert music at 6:45 pm by The Salem Band Flute Ensemble. Food vendors on site – bring a lawn chair or blanket.

June 13 (rain-date Wednesday, June 14): What’s In a Name?

Hear music by your favorite big-name artists: Count Basie, Judy Garland, Johnny Mercer, and Barry Manilow. Music from Aida and Hello Dolly, plus a Cole Porter medley with Salem Band vocalist Mignon Dobbins. Who are Joyce, Bonnie, and Matilda? Come to the concert and find out! Pre-concert music at 6:45 pm by The Salem Band Brass Quintet. Food vendors on site – bring a lawn chair or blanket. 

July 4 (rain-date Wednesday, July 5): Stars & Stripes

Join Salem Band for an All-American band concert in the town Square, our Annual Stars & Stripes performance, honoring veterans in our community with marches, big bands, sing-alongs, Armed Forces Salute, vocalist Mignon Dobbins, and of course, Star & Stripes Forever! Featuring Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. Food vendors on site – bring a lawn chair or blanket. 

July 25 (rain-date Friday, July 28): Best of Salem Band

Enjoy your favorite Salem Band selections from past concerts: Salvation is Created, Wm. Tell, Carole King, movie music from Star Wars, Midway, and O Brother Where Art Thou; swing, and of course, local favorite, Morning Star Polka. Guest vocalist Lora Mouna will sing Wind Beneath My Wings. Food vendors on site – bring a lawn chair or blanket.

August 15 (rain-date Wednesday, August 16): 23 Skidoo

This all-American program includes music of New Orleans, the Roaring ‘20’s, Burt Bacharach, and American composer Clifton Williams. Eileen will be the saxophone soloist on Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World. Don’t miss the World Premiere of Around Salem Square – a new march written for Salem Band by Steven Sherrill; and Carolina in the Morning to honor our home state.
